Working in close consultation with the Royal Parks, Paye were appointed to undertake the work needed to return the Arch to its former prominent position on the north bank of the Serpentine facing Kensington Palace.

The seven individual pieces of travertine that form the sculpture weigh a total of 37 tonnes and each had to carefully cleaned and repaired using carefully sourced matching material.

To overcome the previous structural issues that had caused the original instability, a new internal skeleton of stainless-steel dowels and Cintec anchors were drilled in and plugged with discs of travertine to provide a seamless finish.
